Stolen Vehicle Police Chase Leads to Assault Charges

On October 23 in the early hours of the morning, police spotted a stolen vehicle. The vehicle took off at a high speed and when tire deflation devices weren’t successful in slowing the car Air1 continued to track the vehicle to Watson Street where a female passenger got out.

The driver struck a police car as she continued to try evade police and an officer discharged his firearm. The vehicle was stopped and the female driver was taken into custody.

A short time later, the passenger was located at a nearby building complex and placed under arrest.

There were no reported injuries.

20-year-old Selena Sage Martin of Winnipeg has been charged with:

– Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon (x2)

– Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

– Driving While Disqualified

– Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

27-year-old Jolene Lydia Murdock of Winnipeg has been charged with:

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

– Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x3)

They were detained in custody.
