Stolen Vehicle Recovered with Cache of Weapons.

WINNIPEG – Police stopped a stolen vehicle and found a cache of weapons when the car was searched.

At about 11:30 am on Boxing Day police stopped a stolen vehicle. Three people were inside and all were placed under arrest. When the vehicle was searched, they found an improvised firing device under the front seat and a backpack with pepper spray and two more improvised firing devices.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from Toronto Street earlier in the day.

26 year-old Justin Karl Melquist has been charged with multiple firearm and weapons charges as well as Possession of Stolen Property.

21 year-old Ileana Elizabeth Jewell Baptiste has been charged with theft of a Motor Vehicle and multiple Firearm and Weapons charges

In addition, two warrants for Fail to Appear and Possess Property Obtained by Crime were executed.

20 year-old Charles Corey Chamakese has been charged with multiple Weapons and Firearm charges, Failing to Comply with Recognizance X5 and Driving while Disqualified.

All three have been detained in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
