Surplus On Broadway

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – The province has recorded its first surplus in over a decade.

It was only $5 million but the Pallister government was predicting a $360 million deficit to the end of March.

Income tax revenues were higher than expected and infrastructure spending was lower.

It will be much different this fiscal year, as the full impact of COVID-19 will be felt.

Manitoba is looking at being $2.9 billion in the red because of the pandemic.
