Suspect Arrested In Break-ins

WINNIPEG – A 28-year-old Winnipeg man is in custody following break-ins at 15 restaurants, pharmacies, and other businesses in a span of two months. Police say Maverick Rock Woodhouse is facing 19 charges in connection to the break-ins and thefts, after detectives with the Major Crimes Unit searched a home on Dalhousie Dr near Pembina Hwy and turned up stolen property.

The thefts are alleged to have begun with a vehicle stolen on Jefferson Ave on December 2, followed by break-ins at five restaurants – four on the same day. A retail store and pharmacy were broken into a few days later. Another vehicle was stolen, and two restaurants and three other businesses were broken into a few days after that. The crime spree continued until December 19, then two more break-ins happened again on January 26.

Among the 18 charges, one is for failing to comply with the conditions of release order, 15 are for break, enter, and theft, and three are for possessing stolen property.
