WINNIPEG – Police have arrested and charged a man suspected of gravely assaulting a three year-old child early yesterday morning.

33 year-old Daniel Jensen had been with the child’s mother earlier in the evening at another location where he assaulted her and then fled to the home where the child was located, stabbing him a number of times before running away.

The child remains hospitalized in grave condition at this time.

Jensen has been charged with Attempted Murder, Assault Causing Bodily Harm and multiple fail to comply orders.

He was detained in custody.
