Tattoo Shop Reopens

WINNIPEG – A tattoo shop in the city reopened on the weekend in violation of public health orders.

Phil McLellan at The Parlor Tattoos says he had no choice but to open up again after the province extended current code red restrictions on Friday for at least another two weeks.

His rent on Main Street is $3,200 a month and he’s blown through any savings he had.

Public health inspectors visited the store but didn’t issue a ticket. They did however tell McLellan they would be back.

He says he’s heard of a handful of other open businesses that got the same visit and message.
