WINNIPEG, MB. – Giving back was the call of duty yesterday when police officers partnered with deserving kids for CopShop. St. Vital Centre donated $200 gift cards to 60 specially chosen children and paired them up with Winnipeg Police Officers to shop for winter clothing, toys and Christmas gifts for their families.

“We are proud of this partnership with the WPS and love bringing joy to deserving children during the holiday season,” said Cindy Shack, Marketing Director of St. Vital Centre. “This is a very rewarding project for all involved.”

The children chosen for CopShop were recommended by a variety of sources and were chosen because of need, recognition of specific academic or sports achievement or because of volunteer efforts that are making a difference in the community.

“We are proud to give back to the community we serve by taking part in CopShop,” says Constable Marlene Hyde “This partnership allows our youth to interact with officers in a meaningful way.”

St. Vital Centre was one of eleven Cushman & Wakefield shopping centres participating in this special initiative.
