Three Charged with Armed Robbery of 60 Year-Old Man

WINNIPEG – Three men face multiple charges after they attempted to rob a 60 year-old man of his bike.

The victim was leaving his apartment block on Cumberland Avenue when he saw three men standing around his bike. When he confronted them, one of them held a knife and ordered him to unlock his bike.

A woman and man witnessed the confrontation and approached the suspects. When one of the suspects produced a handgun and threatened the woman, she pushed him. The armed suspect pushed her back and she fell to the ground.

All three suspects fled on foot, followed by the victims who were updating police.

All three men were located a short distance away and placed under arrest. One male was observed discarding a knife before his arrest. Officers also seized an air pistol.

Fail to Comply with Probation Order

23 year-old Kenny Walter Young has been charged with:

Robbery

Armed Robbery Using a Restricted Firearm or Prohibited Firearm

Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition X2

Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Pointing a Firearm X2

Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order X2

32 year-old Brennan James Lamirande has been charged with:

Armed Robbery Using a Restricted Firearm or Prohibited Firearm

Robbery

Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2

Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order X2

All three have been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
