Transit Supervisor Pulled Off Bus & Assaulted Taken to Hospital

WINNIPEG – A transit supervisor was taken to hospital in stable condition after being assaulted by a man and two male youths he asked to leave the bus.

Police said Thursday evening an eastbound Winnipeg Transit bus was stopped at the intersection of Portage Avenue and Colony Street. Three men got on the bus, however, one did not have enough money and was told this by a transit supervisor onboard. The three men all became verbally aggressive and the supervisor asked them to leave the bus. The men began assaulting the supervisor and dragged him off the bus where the assault continued on the street.

The assault stopped when Police and Auxiliary Cadets came upon the scene.

The Transit Supervisor was conveyed to hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

An adult male and 2 male youths were arrested and will be charged with Assault.

All three were released on a Promise to Appear.
