WINNIPEG – Two more arrests were made in connection with several Liquor Mart thefts and robberies in Winnipeg.
Police said between July 17th and September 18, 2018, a woman visited various Liquor Mart locations around the city. She would often enter the store, select several liquor bottles and leave without making any attempt to pay. Liquor worth approximately $4,050 was stolen over the course of nine incidents.
During one of those incident on August 28th the suspect threw a bottle at a security guard who approached her and struck him. She also threw a bottle at a customer in the store before running away.
During another incident, this one on September 18th, the suspect turned a bottle upside down and threatened an employee as she fled the store.
The suspect, a 16-year-old female from Winnipeg, was arrested Tuesday and has been charged with a number of theft and robbery-related offences for her role during the incidents.
A second person was also arrested and charged.
Between April 18th and July 1st a woman visited various Liquor Mart locations around the city. She would often enter the store, select several liquor bottles and leave without making any attempt to pay. Liquor worth approximately $5,150 was stolen over the course of eighteen incidents.
During six of the incidents, the woman sprayed employees and/or customers with bear spray and threatened to spray employees during an additional two incidents.
On Tuesday police arrested Markie Haley Seymour, a 28-year-old woman from Winnipeg at a home in West St. Paul. Seymour has been charged with a number of theft and robbery-related offences for her role during the incidents.
