US Election Day

WINNIPEG – COVID-19 has cast a long shadow over the US presidential election campaign which ends today with the final day of voting.

While Donald Trump and Joe Biden argued over who could best address the pandemic, almost 100 million Americans voted early because of coronavirus.

Biden leads in the polls but just like 2016, Trump hopes to take important states to win at least 270 electoral college votes.

Control of the Senate is also at stake in today’s election. The Republicans currently hold a six seat majority.

Canadians will be watching tonight’s returns with interest, especially Americans living here. Democrats Abroad says it’s holding a Canada-wide Zoom watch party.
