MANITOBA – It’s time to start thinking about winter driving again. The snow is here and motorists are reminded to use caution when passing snowplows.
The province has about 300 truck-plows, de-icing equipment and motor graders. All equipment has flashing blue warning lights and drivers should stay well back of all equipment. Manitobans should not attempt to pass a snowplow from behind any time it is in operation and slow down when passing approaching snowplows.
The priority is to clear driving lanes first, then shoulders, removing snow from bridges and snow adjacent to guard rails and from other built-up locations. Sanding, salting and de-icing will continue as required.
