WINNIPEG – An intoxicated and violent man, armed with a baseball bat threatened police and trashed a garage on Ralph Avenue West.

Police found the intoxicated suspect at around 7:00pm.on March 16 after he had barricaded himself in the garage. He was striking anything within reach with the baseball bat and when he notice officers walking towards him he began to swing the bat at them in a threatening manner.

After approximately 1 1/2 hours he was taken safely into custody.

54 year-old Duane Errol Franklin has been charged with Assault Peace Officer X2 and Possess Weapon.
