Water Meter Reading Season Begins

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – The City of Winnipeg’s annual water meter reading program begins May 8, 2019 and will continue until the end of August. City employees will be visiting homes weekdays between 2:30 p.m. and dusk.

Each meter reader will have photo identification, a hand-held computer, and a uniform with the City of Winnipeg logo. Homeowners are reminded to ask to see identification before allowing a meter reader into their home. Meter readers will only knock at front and side doors, and will not knock at back doors. All dogs must also be secured either in another room or a kennel before meter readers will enter the home.

The City requires at least one accurate meter reading per year from each household. If a homeowner misses the visit, a meter reading card will be left with instructions on how to provide an accurate meter reading by phone or online at MyUtilityBill.winnipeg.ca.
