WILDFIRES NEAR DAUPHIN

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – About 100 people were evacuated from north of Dauphin on the weekend because of wildfires.

The province says most of the residents should be back home today after self-evacuating Sunday night.

The Canadian Red Cross says the members of Pine Creek First Nation stayed in hotels in Dauphin.

Provincial burn permits have been pulled and no more will be issued until the risk of wildfires eases.
