Winnipeg Man Faces 20 Charges After Crime Spree.

WINNIPEG – A violent suspect who assaulted his victims with pepper spray has been apprehended after three violent attacks over the last month.

The first attack involved a 41-year-old victim who was outside of a restaurant on Edmonton Street on October 21st at 3:00 am. He got into an argument with the suspect and after becoming fearful that he would produce a weapon he fled. The suspect chased him and when he caught up to him pointed a handgun at him. He then sprayed the victim with pepper spray and ran away.

The second attack happened in the same vicinity on Edmonton Street on November 11th at 3:30 am. when a 33 year-old man was physically assaulted by the same suspect. The victim received injuries to his upper body.

Then, on November 25th at 3:30 in the morning the suspect confronted a victim at a night club on Portage Avenue. He threatened him with a knife and a can of bear spray but fled before police arrived.

Last night 24 year-old Haben Nipsey Weldekidan was arrested at a motel on Pembina Highway. He had $5,000 on him and another person’s identity. He has been charged with pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon (X2), possession of weapons(X2), uttering threats(X3), failing to comply with probation(X8), possession of a false identity, identity fraud, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of property.
