Winnipeg Man Threatens Pedestrians with Knife Outside Portage Place

WINNIPEG – A 33 year-old Winnipeg man was arrested after threatening pedestrians with a knife on Portage Avenue at Carlton.

When police picked him up he had a folding knife in his possession. He had previously been escorted out of Portage Place by two security officers and once outside, he produced the knife and began making threatening gestures towards them. He then walked away, threatening those around him as he walked.

33 year-old Sandy David Bruce has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, possessing a weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.

He has been detained.
