Winnipeg Man Threatens Police Via Social Media

WINNIPEG – A 26 year-old Winnipeg man used social media to threaten police officers lives.

The post showed the suspect uttering threats to kill officers while holding a firearm and standing across from Winnipeg Police Headquarters.

Police immediately took precautions and security was enhanced in and around the building. On March 26 they conducted a high-risk vehicle stop where they arrested the suspect along with two other adults who were in the vehicle with him.

Police seized a loaded, 22 calibre semi-automatic rifle with a 10 round magazine and the serial number removed, a loaded, 22 calibre semi-automatic, sawed-off rifle with a loaded, rotary style magazine attached and a sawed-off, pump-action shotgun

25 year-old Sean Andrew Spence was charged with uttering threats and 27 separate firearms offences. He was also the subject of 3 separate firearm prohibitions.

He was detained in custody.

Also arrested and charged were 24 year old Jewels Robert Alfred Contois and 18 year-old Raven Freedom Sky Wilson.

Contois and Wilson were each charged with multiple criminal offences including firearms charges, breaches of court orders, and drug trafficking charges related to methamphetamine.
