WINNIPEG – A woman has allegedly been shot in the face with an air pistol by a stranger sitting next to her at a Winnipeg bar.

Police say it happened Friday afternoon and they met with the woman at a home that she travelled to after the incident.

The 42 year old was taken to hospital in stable condition, while officers went to the bar where the shooting was alleged to have taken place.

Investigators say an 18 year old suspect fled the business before they got there but he returned a short time later and was arrested.
