WINNIPEG – A frightening road rage incident resulted in multiple assault with a weapon charges for a 29 year-old man.
The incident started on Main Street near Chief Peguis Trail, where witnesses say that the man began driving erratically and cut off a woman driver. He repeatedly slammed on his breaks, causing several near collisions, then allowed the woman to pass him so he could ram her from behind. This caused her to loose control and swerve into a snow bank.
He then jumped into the passenger side of her car, demanding her information and when she told him to get out of her car, he lunged at her with a sharp object. Witnesses stepped in and held the man down until police arrived.
The accident caused severe damage to the victim’s vehicle however she did not require immediate medical attention.
A 29-year-old male of Winnipeg has been arrested for Assault with a Weapon X2, Possess Weapon, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
