WINNIPEG — One of the local spring-predicting groundhogs has passed away.
The Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre made the announcement about Winnipeg Wyn on Facebook over the weekend.
Wyn had been battling an infection the past few months.
She came to the centre as an orphan in 2016 after being found at a fire station where it’s believed her mom was trapped and relocated.
Aside from forecasting the weather, Wyn made many trips to schools to educate kids on how people can co-exist with animals.
