WINNIPEG – The victim of the city’s 24th homicide has now been identified as 44 year-old Gabriel Radford Coates.

Coates was found deceased yesterday at about 7:00 AM. in a park near Higgins Avenue and Maple Street.

Investigators believe that Gabriel may have been assaulted overnight or during the morning hours. Police are asking anyone with information regarding people or suspicious activity in the area to contact the Homicide Unit. As well, businesses in the area are asked to check for video surveillance that may help with the investigation.
