WINNIPEG, MB – RCMP IN Thompson have charged a 23 year old in connection to a homicide in the community.

On March 2nd RCMP were responding to a call of an assault at a home in Thicket Portage, Manitoba. While en route, officers were advised that the home was on fire.

When officers arrived, local firefighters had located one female inside and two males were on scene with injuries. The 21-year-old female was taken to the local Nursing Station, where she was pronounced dead.

A 22-year-old male community member who had come to help get everyone out of the home suffered minor injuries from the fire. He was treated on scene and released.

Travis Munroe, 23, a resident of the home, was arrested. He is charged with Manslaughter, Arson with Disregard for Human Life, Assault x 2 and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. He remains in custody and was treated for minor injuries sustained in the fire. The deceased and Munroe were in a relationship.
