ISLAND LAKE – A 13-year-old girl has died from injuries sustained when she was struck by a drunk driver.
RCMP say on Thursday a 13-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle in St. Theresa Point. The driver, an intoxicated woman, had been travelling southbound on the main road near the Nursing Station when she struck the young girl walking southbound.
The girl was seriously injured and taken to hospital in Winnipeg. On Friday, July 20th, she died from her injuries.
A 32-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was uninjured. The driver, Paula Wood, 35-years-old, is charged with Impaired Operation Causing Death.
