WINNIPEG – A 13 year-old youth faces multiple charges after being found with a loaded sawed-off .22 calibre rifle.

On December 3rd the police K9 unit was investigating a series of commercial break-ins near Aikins St and Mountain Ave at 2:30 am when they saw a youth walking in the area. He walked up to a home on Aikins but then quickly ran away from the home. He was located trying to hide near Machray School. Police returned him to the home where they found a loaded, sawed-off .22 calibre rifle.

He was arrested and charged with 7 firearms offences as well as 8 breaches of Failing to Comply with Condition of Sentences.

He has been held in custody.
