WINNIPEG – A 17 year-old girl was attacked and then car-jacked by an armed couple on London Street on December 12th.
The victim had just parked her car at 5:30pm when the two suspects approached her on foot. The woman was armed with a baton and the man had a utility knife.
She was struck several times with the baton before they took her keys and drove off in her car. The two carjackers then used her debit card at a convenience store.
On December 13th at 3:25 am. police spotted the stolen vehicle being driven by a woman on Toronto Street. The vehicle immediately fled from the police at high speed and crashed in to a tree when she lost control of the vehicle.
A man and a woman ran from the vehicle in an attempt to escape but were taken into custody nearby.
20 year-old Alexis Kelly Karen Hourie and 28 year-old Mark Marmeto have been charged with Robbery, Fleeing from Police, Fraud, and Possession of a Weapon. They have both been held in custody.
