19 Year-Old Poplar River Man Charged with Manslaughter

POPLAR RIVER – A 19 year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after a 24-year-old man died as a result of injuries he received from an assault.

The victim was taken to hospital on May 31 with life=threatening injuries and pronounced deceased.

RCMP have arrested 19-year-old Brendon Valiquette, of Poplar River, and charged him with Manslaughter. He was remanded into custody. Two other males, a 28-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from Poplar River, were arrested with charges of Assault pending.

The Poplar River RCMP along with the RCMP Major Crime Unit continue to investigate.
