WINNIPEG – The first homicide of 2020 in Winnipeg happened in a St. Vital neighbourhood Friday evening.

Police said on Friday around 6:13PM officers responded to the Worthington neighbourhood for a report of suspicious circumstances.

When officers arrived they found an injured woman at a home in the 100 block of Hindley Avenue. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition where she was pronounced dead.

Winnipeg Police have confirmed they have arrested an adult male. The Homicide Unit continues investigating. It’s expected more information will be released on Monday.
