PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE – A 20-year-old man is in hospital with a gunshot wound and 18-year-old is in stable condition after being seriously assaulted.

RCMP say, Sunday just after midnight, they responded to a report of gunshots near 17th Street NW.

Officers found a 20-year-old-man at the scene who had been shot. He was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police also found an 18-year-old man nearby who had been seriously assaulted. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition. Both men are from Portage la Prairie.
