DAUPHIN – RCMP in Dauphin say a single vehicle rollover has claimed the life of a 20-year -old woman.

The collision happened just after 2 AM Tuesday on 147 Road North, approximately half a kilometre east of Provincial Road 362 in the RM of Dauphin. The vehicle was travelling westbound when it appears it drove off the road, hit an approach, and rolled.

A 20-year-old woman, from the RM of Dauphin, was alone in the vehicle. When the SUV rolled, she was ejected. The woman was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Mounties said the woman was not wearing a seatbelt, and speed is believed to have played a role in the crash. It is unknown at this time whether alcohol was a factor.
