22-Year-Old Attempts an Armed Robbery in Broad Daylight

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Police arrested and charged a 22-year-old man after he tried robbing a convenience store with a knife.

Police said Monday around 5:00 PM, a lone male entered a store in the 100 block of Hargrave and demanded access to an attached building. When denied access, the suspect pulled a knife and attempted to steal lottery tickets but was unsuccessful and took off.

Police searched the area and found a suspect at Garry Street and St. Mary Avenue. A knife was located in the suspect’s pant pocket and the suspect admitted to injecting methamphetamine earlier in the day.

Moses Bradley Swan, a 22-year-old man from Winnipeg was charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possess Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation X4
