WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Police went undercover to catch a 22 year-old man suspected of luring children for pornography online.
An online gaming company initially contacted police to report that a suspect was requesting nude images from minors, as well as offering nude images to minors.
Investigators from the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Exploitation Unit initiated an undercover online investigation using a profile of a 13-year-old. This investigation involved the suspect entering into a conversation with an undercover officer on social media.
The suspect sent numerous nude images and a video, and requested nude images from the undercover officer. The officer stated numerous times that they were only 13 years old. Eventually, the accused asked the officer, portraying a 13-year-old, to perform sex acts should they actually meet.
On October 7, 2019, investigators obtained and executed a search warrant on a residence in Winnipeg and arrested a suspect.
22 year-old Kyle William Marcinkowski has now been charged with:
– Luring a Person Under 16 Years of age by Means of Telecommunication x 2
– Luring a Person Under 18 Years of age by Means of Telecommunication
– Transmit Sexually Explicit Material to a Child x 3
– Possession of Child Pornography
He was detained in custody.
