FRASERWOOD – A 23 year-old man from St. Andrews faces six charges of dangerous driving after a two-vehicle collision that took the life of one person and injured five others.
The accident occurred on Highway 7 at the intersection of Road 107 North at 3:15 P.M. on December 8 about five kilometers south of Fraserwood.
The 23 year-old man entered the intersection from Road 107 and collided with a minivan. The driver and passenger in the pick-up truck suffered minor injuries, however the 38 year-old passenger in the minivan was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounce deceased at the scene. The five remaining occupants were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The 23-year-old driver of the pickup truck was arrested on scene and taken into police custody. He was later released with numerous court imposed conditions and scheduled to appear in court at a later date on charges including Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death and five counts of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm.
