WINNIPEG, MB. – With over 280 professional contractors and renovation experts at the Winnipeg Home and Garden Show this year, there is plenty of help for those planning their next renovation project.

This is the 44th year for the show which starts Thursday April 5 and runs through till Sunday April 5 at the RBC Convention Centre.

Spring is a great time of year in Winnipeg to begin the initial stages of a renovation, just in time for the summer. Starting the planning phase now sets course for a summertime renovation, which has more perks than it’s cooler counterparts.

“Summer renovations usually cause the least disruption to your home schedule, especially if you are taking time off over the summer,” explained Lanny McInnes, president of the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association. The Winnipeg Home + Garden Show comes at just the right time for locals to start planning their next home improvement project, and with a variety of exhibitors at the show, there are experts for all types of renovations.

“Typically, more time is spent outdoors than indoors, so basement and kitchen renovations are great for summer months. Further, tackling any projects that involve plumbing, like in the kitchen or bathroom, during this time avoids any issues that a sudden drop in temperature may potentially cause during the other three seasons,” continued McInnes.

There will certainly be no shortage of experts at the Winnipeg Home + Garden Show. The Ask a Renovator Booth, presented by the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association and Home Decor and Renovations Magazine will be open all weekend long, and offers attendees the opportunity to stop by for a complimentary 15-minute consultation to ensure that next project is a dream instead of a disaster.
