BRANDON, MB – Brandon police have charged two women, one only 14 year old for assault, a 27 year old woman for possession of a stolen vehicle and arrested a 29 year old man for multiple crimes that occurred in the city.
Police received a report that a vehicle stolen 2006 GMC 2500 truck from Reston was in Brandon. Police located the truck parked at the rear of an apartment complex in the 600 Block of McDiarmid Drive. Police went to the apartment relating to the stall in which the vehicle was parked. A woman in the home was in possession of keys to the stolen vehicle. The 27-year-old woman from Brandon was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. A 25-year-old man from Brandon was also in the apartment and he had an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation.
Police received a report that two females were involved in a fight inside a downtown business. Police believe that the two engaged in a verbal argument that led to both assaulting each other. An 18-year-old female and 14-year-old female youth were arrested for Assault. Both women received minor injuries however, medical treatment was not required.
Police received a call that three men were possibly going thru vehicles in the 700 Block of Princess Avenue East. When police arrived they saw the suspects running. One of the male suspects was found after a brief foot pursuit and he had an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Uttering Threats and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. The 16-year-old male was arrested.
A 29-year-old Brandon man was arrested on this week after an investigation of several Break and Enters in the city. The man was in custody at the Brandon Correctional Center as the RCMP arrested him for similar offences. Brandon Police said that the male suspect was responsible for a Break and Enter to a business in the 900 Block of Van Horne Avenue East on January 16th of this year. The investigation also revealed that the suspect attempted to Break into a neighbouring business by damaging the interior drywall divider separating the businesses. After the suspect left the business, he attempted to steal a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado truck. Police believe he also broke into a business on January 17th in the 900 Block of Douglas Street. A cash box containing cash and a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 truck were stolen. It is further alleged that the suspect then entered a fenced compound of a business also in the 900 Block of Douglas Street. Nothing was reported stolen during this Break and Enter. He has been arrested for Break and Enter, Attempt Break and Enter, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Breach of Probation.
An employee from a business in the 900 Block of Victoria Avenue called police to report apprehending a suspect who stole a shopping cart full of merchandise valued at $1700.00. A 24-year-old woman from Brandon was arrested for Theft Under $5000.
