WINNIPEG – The Manitoba government is promising improvements at the highway intersection where 17 lives were lost last June.

NDP premier Wab Kinew is committing $12 million.

An outside review of Highways 1 and 5 includes three potential changes to improve safety.

A narrow median at the intersection could be widened, the intersection might be turned into a roundabout or left turns in some directions may be restricted.
