St.Pierre-Jolys – RCMP have three people, all from Winnipeg, in custody after their stolen vehicle was stuck in snow.
On December 23rd St.Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to a robbery at a business on Highway 59 in Tourond. Two women and one man, entered the business, took multiple items off the shelves and left without paying. The business owners went outside to confront the three and were threatened with an extendable baton.
The three suspects tried to leave the business in a stolen vehicle, however the vehicle got stuck in the snow. RCMP officers arrived and arrested the two women inside the vehicle. The man had fled the scene on foot. Police began a search and officers located fresh footprints in the snow. They followed the footprints to a property approximately one mile from where the robbery happened and found their man.
25-year-old Christopher Murdock of Winnipeg, was arrested and charged with Robbery, Possession of Property Obtained by crime, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Comply with conditions x 3, Assault and Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose. He also had three outstanding Manitoba-wide warrants for his arrest.
29-year-old Shauna Owen of Winnipeg, was arrested and charged with Robbery, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Property obtained by crime, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Comply with conditions x 2, Assault and Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose. She also had two outstanding Manitoba-wide warrants for her arrest.
33-year-old Amber Roberts of Winnipeg, was arrested and charged with Robbery, Possession of Property obtained by crime, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Comply with conditions, Assault, Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and Fail to comply with probation order. She also had three outstanding Manitoba-wide warrants for her arrest.
All three suspects were remanded into custody.
