WINNIPEG, MB. – Winnipeg police make two arrests in connection with a number of robberies that occurred in the city.
Police said in a release, it all started on September 25 of this year when a man cashed a fraudulent cheque at a business on Ellice Avenue which was later reported to police.
Then, on November 25 this year, the same man entered a business on Pembina Highway and stole an entire lottery display with approximately 300 lottery tickets worth a value under $5000.
It’s believed this man stole a 2002 Grey Honda Civic Si from a home sometime between November 29 and 30.
Later, police received reports of a number of licence plates, three in total, from various Honda Civic’s were stolen between December 2 and the 4th.
The crimes continued when more lottery tickets were reported stolen from a business on Portage Avenue. This time a man got away with a lottery display containing numerous lottery tickets valued at approximately $1,200.00
Finally police located the stolen 2002 Honda Civic parked at a home on Spence Street bearing two of the stolen license plates.
Once police checked the vehicle, they found five grams of powdered cocaine with an approximate value of $300.00.
Ryan Jeron Smith, 35-years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Theft Under $5000 X2
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X4
- Fraud Under $5000
Danielle Marie Deboynton, 36-years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X3
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
