3rd Annual Polar Bear Run

WINNIPEG, MB. – Online registaration is open now for the third annual Polar Bear Run at Assiniboine Park.

This year the Polar Bear Run will be held will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018. It is perfect for all ages and includes a 10 km run, 5 km run and 3 km walk through a portion of the Park and Zoo.

All proceeds from the Polar Bear Run support the Assiniboine Park Conservancy’s Polar Bear Rescue Team. To date, over $35,000 has been raised through this event to support the ongoing polar bear rescue and conservation efforts and the continued care of the animals.

“The Polar Bear Run is a fun event and a great way to engage the community in learning about our polar bear rescue, transition, conservation and research programs,” said Laura Cabak, APC Marketing & Communications Specialist and run organizer. “This is the third year for this event and we are looking forward to seeing it continue to grow!”

Schools from across Manitoba are invited to participate in the Polar Bear Run School Program by hosting their own Polar Bear Run or Walk in February. More information and tool kits can be found on the website.

Online registration is now open. The first 30 people to register for the Polar Bear Run will receive a free pair of tickets to see The Manitoba Moose take on the Iowa Wild at the MTS Centre on Sunday, January 14 at 2:00 pm. Early bird pricing is in effect until December 31, 2017.
