WINNIPEG, MB – A 43-year-old man died today in a snowmobile accident, the seventh fatality since January 20th of this year.
Swan River RCMP said the accident occurred around March 17 around 2:25 am approximately 6 kilometres southeast of Swan River.
A 43-year-old man, from Swan River, was travelling with a small group when it appears he lost control of his snowmobile and veered off the trail colliding with a tree. He was taken to hospital where he died from.
Police said the man was wearing a helmet however they also believe that speed and alcohol are factors in the collision.
