WINNIPEG – The province is reporting five deaths today from COVID-19, one of them in Winnipeg.

There are 196 new cases of the virus, including 54 in Winnipeg. There are 105 cases in the north.

3,205 cases are active, 24,091 people have recovered, for a total of 28,089 cases so far.

268 Manitobans are in hospital right now, 34 of them in the ICU.

The five day test positivity rate in the province is 9.2 per cent. Winnipeg’s rate is 6.6. 2,269 tests were done in the last 24 hours for a total of 459,134 since the pandemic began.

The death toll now sits at 793.
