WINNIPEG – The province is reporting five deaths today from COVID-19, four of them in Winnipeg.

There are 80 new cases of the virus, including 29 in Winnipeg.

1,619 cases are active, 28,276 people have recovered, for a total of 30,766 cases so far.

226 Manitobans are in hospital right now, 26 of them in the ICU.

The five day test positivity rate in the province is 5.2 per cent. Winnipeg’s rate is 3.9. 1,580 tests were done in the last 24 hours for a total of 500,840 since the pandemic began.

The death toll now sits at 871.
