6-Year-Old Dies in Hospital From Injuries Sustained in Collision

WINNIPEG – A six-year-old passenger in a collision on May 31st on Highway 52 has died in the hospital from his injuries.

The two-vehicle collision occurred after 5:00PM on Thursday, May 31st, on Highway 52, at the intersection with Provincial Road 216, in the RM of Hanover.

RCMP determined that a vehicle, being driven by a 23-year-old woman from the RM of Hanover, was travelling eastbound on Hwy 52 when she collided with a westbound vehicle, being driven by a 26-year-old woman from St. Malo, who was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto PR216.

The 26-year-old woman driver was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries and her six-year-old son, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 23-year-old woman driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Monday the six-year-old passenger died from his injuries sustained in the collision.
