WINNIPEG – Police are asking for the public’s assistance identifying two women that robbed a 65-year-old woman on Wednesday.
Police say the woman, 65, was walking to her parked vehicle near Sargent Avenue and Sherbrook Street when she noticed two women following her.
A short time later, the victim was pushed to the ground from behind. As she fell on her hands and knees, one of the women grabbed her purse and dragged the victim causing minor injuries. The suspect was able to take the purse and then took off with the other woman.
The stolen purse contained a number of items including an undisclosed amount of cash, banking cards, identification, a mobile phone and approximately 20 pills of Alprazolam (unknown dosage).
The first suspect is described as being Indigenous in appearance, 21 years old, 5’4” in height with long dark hair. She was wearing a black zip-up sweater with a red checkered shirt underneath it and black leggings. She was carrying a black backpack with red stripes.
The second suspect is described as being Indigenous in appearance, 21 years old, 5’4” in height with dark hair that extended beyond her shoulders. She was wearing a black zip-up sweater with black leggings. She was carrying a black backpack with pink stripes.
