WINNIPEG – Police are looking for a female suspect who attacked a 73 year-old woman in her St Boniface home and then fled in the victim’s vehicle.
The victim was in her backyard on May 20 when the female suspect approached her and convinced her to enter her home. She proceeded to attack the woman with a weapon, then took her purse and fled in the victim’s van.
The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition and was treated for injuries to her upper body.
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation and are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect and locating the victim’s stolen vehicle.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian female in appearance, 30 to 40 years old, 5’2” in height, 100 lbs in weight and has a slim build with blonde medium-length hair that was tied up. She was wearing a grey tank top, dark-coloured jeans with rips in the knees and was carrying a black shoulder bag.
The victim’s stolen vehicle, which is still outstanding, is a beige 2005 Dodge Caravan with Manitoba licence plate AVU951. There may be denting on a passenger door and rust along the bottom of both sides of the vehicle.
