WINNIPEG – The province is reporting nine deaths today from COVID-19, five of them in Winnipeg.

There are also 222 new cases of the virus, including 97 in Winnipeg.

4,582 cases are active, 20,655 people have recovered, for a total of 25,963 cases so far.

315 Manitobans are in hospital right now, 35 of them in the ICU.

The five day test positivity rate in the province is 10.1 per cent. Winnipeg’s rate is 10.3. 2,386 tests were done in the last 24 hours for a total of 435,227 since the pandemic began.

The death toll now sits at 726.
