9 People Escape House Fire in St. Vital

WINNIPEG, MB – There was a house fire early this morning in St. Vital, nine people managed to get out of the home safely and a mayday had to be called for a firefighter.

There are several reports that of the nine people five adults and two kids, were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

It has also been reported that a firefighter ran into an issue while battling the blaze and a mayday had to be called. He was safely evacuate him from the home and there are no reports of any injury to the firefighter.

The fire started around 4:30AM at a home on Beliveau Road close to St. Anne’s and Bishop Grandin, both of which were closed for a few hours this morning to allow fire fighters to work but are all re-opened.
