A Christmas Celebration Returns this Sunday

Arts

WINNIPEG, MB. – The best Christmas music, incredible Manitoba talent, and a little holiday spirit for the whole family, returns this Sunday, Dec 10 at 2:00 pm with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra’s (WSO) A Christmas Celebration, hosted by Ace Burpee at the Centennial Concert Hall.

A Christmas Celebration is a growing holiday tradition for more and more Manitoba families. This year, La troupe jeunesse de l’Ensemble folklorique de la Rivière Rouge will treat the audience with an energetic performance of French Canadian music and dance.

The concert offers holiday classics featuring the sounds of the Pembina Trails Voices Family of Choirs, Maples Collegiate Chamber Choir, The SnowTones (the anthem singers for the Winnipeg Goldeyes), Richard Gillis (co-founder and artistic director of Jazz Winnipeg), Karaoke World Championship winning vocalist Elsaida Alerta, and one of Iceland’s leading jazz guitarists, Björn Thoroddsen.

Hannah Taylor is this year’s special guest narrator. At age 8, Taylor founded the Ladybug Foundation and has helped raise millions of dollars for homeless shelters and food banks in Canada. Of course, host Ace Burpee of Virgin 103.1 will add his trademark humour, and the afternoon wouldn’t be complete without an audience sing-along to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

This performance will include a sign language interpreter.
