A Simple Traffic Stop Means Jail for Man Who Didn’t Pay Support

BRANDON – A man who hasn’t been paying support lands himself in jail after a Brandon police traffic stop.

Around the lunch hour on Friday, Brandon police stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of 11th Street. During the stop, police learned the driver, a 43-years-old man, did not have a valid driver’s license or a valid vehicle registration.

Police discovered the man had a warrant for his arrest under the Family Maintenance Act. He was arrested for the warrant and taken to Brandon Correctional Centre.
