Extreme Cold Warning on New Years Eve in Manitoba

WINNIPEG, MB. – If you are planning on attending any outdoor events in Manitoba, bundle up! The extreme cold temperatures continue to hover over Winnipeg and most of Manitoba today and tomorrow with forecasted wind chills in the minus 35 range.

There is warmer weather in sight as we kick off 2018.

Thompson will see sunshine today, but very cold with the high at minus 21 and the wind chill at minus 36. New Years Day the wind chill will remain an issue at minus 33, the high will be minus 17. Tuesday, there is a chance of some flurries and it’ll be colder with the high at just minus 21.

Brandon will have extreme wind chills, close to minus 40 late in the day and through the evening. The high will be minus 26. New Years Day will be sunny with a high of minus 22 and a wind chill of minus 44 is forecasted. Tuesday will reach a high of minus 13 with lots of sunshine and look for much warmer temps for Thursday and Friday, with the high hovering near minus 13 and minus 14.

An extreme wind chill of minus 44 is forecasted today and into the evening. Winnipeg will reach minus 18 on New Years Day with a wind chill of minus 34. Tuesday we should have a few snow flurries with a warmer high of minus 14 . The rest of the week will be sunny, but back to colder temperatures, although not the extreme cold we’ve had over the Holiday’s.
